Do students need to install an app to use Say Cheese?
No. Say Cheese runs in the browser. You create the event gallery and share a QR code or link. Students scan it on their phone and can start adding or viewing photos in seconds – no app, no accounts.
What types of student events is Say Cheese good for?
It works for campus parties, dorm events, Erasmus and exchange trips, faculty trips, ski weeks, boat parties, city tours, orientation weeks and end-of-year celebrations. You can create a new gallery for each event or trip.
How many students can join and upload photos?
That depends on the plan you choose, but Say Cheese is built to handle groups from small dorm parties up to large faculty events. You can set upload limits per person so the gallery stays usable and not flooded.
Can we allow short videos as well as photos?
Yes. On eligible plans you can enable short clips alongside photos, which is great for capturing atmosphere – chants on the bus, dance-floor moments, quick “cheers” videos. You can also keep it photo-only if you prefer.
Is an internet connection required during the party or trip?
Yes, students need a data or Wi-Fi connection to open the QR link and upload content. If they’re offline on a bus or in a weak-signal area, they can still shoot with their phone camera and upload later from the same link when they’re online again.
Can multiple organisers manage the gallery?
Definitely. You can add co-admins – for example other committee members, dorm reps or trip leaders – so more than one person can help moderate uploads and download content after the event.
Can we keep the gallery private to our group?
Yes. Galleries are private by default. Only people with the link (and QR) can access them. You decide who you share it with, and you can remove any upload that doesn’t fit the vibe or your rules.
Can we control or remove photos that are not appropriate?
Yes. Organisers can hide or delete photos from the gallery. You decide whether uploads appear instantly or whether you prefer to keep an eye on things and clean up afterwards.
Where are the photos stored and can we download them?
Photos and clips are stored securely on cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest. You can download all event media in bulk after the party or trip to keep a backup or create recap posts, videos and posters.
Can we use Say Cheese across multiple events during the year?
Yes. You can set up new galleries for each party, trip or campaign and run them under the same account. Many student groups use Say Cheese for the whole year: orientation, mid-semester trips, big parties and graduation.
