Do I need to install an app to use Say Cheese at a birthday party?
No. Say Cheese runs in the browser. You create and manage your birthday event online, and guests join by scanning a QR code or following a link on their phones. There’s nothing to install for you or for them.
Is Say Cheese suitable for kids’ birthday parties?
Yes. Parents and adults upload photos from their own phones, so kids don’t need devices. You keep the gallery private, control who gets the link, and can download everything later for your family archive or printed album.
How many guests can join and upload photos?
That depends on the plan you choose, but you always set the rules. You decide how many people can join, how many photos each guest can upload, whether videos are allowed, and how long the birthday album stays open. This works for small family parties and big birthday events.
Can I allow short videos as well as photos?
Yes. On eligible plans you can let guests upload short clips (for example 10–15 seconds) alongside photos. Perfect for capturing the song, candle blow or surprise entrance. You can also disable video if you prefer to keep it photo-only.
Is an internet connection required at the party?
Yes, guests need a data or Wi-Fi connection to open the QR link and upload photos or clips. If the connection is weak, they can still take photos with their phone camera and upload them later from the same link once they’re back on a better connection.
Can more than one adult help manage the birthday gallery?
Yes. You can invite co-admins – for example your partner, another parent, or a friend – to help approve photos, manage the slideshow and keep an eye on uploads. This is especially useful at kids’ parties where one person is often busy with games and cake.
Can I keep the album hidden and only show it after the party?
Absolutely. You can keep the gallery hidden from guests while they upload, then reveal everything later – for example in the evening, the next day with the birthday child, or during a follow-up family get-together. You decide when the “big reveal” happens.
How is privacy handled, especially for photos of children?
Your birthday gallery is private by default. You choose who gets the link or QR code, and you can remove any photo you’re not comfortable with. Encrypted events ensure that photos are secured end-to-end, so only people with access to the event key can see them.
Where are the photos and videos stored, and can I download them?
Media is stored securely on cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest. At any time you can download all birthday photos and clips in bulk and save them on your own devices, print them, or create albums. We don’t add watermarks to your memories.
Can I reuse Say Cheese for future birthdays and family events?
Yes. You can create a new event for each birthday or family gathering, or run multiple events in parallel. Many users keep coming back for every celebration – kids’ birthdays, milestone ages, anniversaries, graduations – so all of their best memories stay organised and easy to find.
